Hello friends!

Here we are, the end of a beautiful journey. It’s so hard to believe that almost 2 months in South Africa have come to an end… it’s so true what they say, “time flies when you are having fun”. Seven weeks of ministry, building relationships, and growing in the Lord. A time that I will never forget.

Starting with the staff at Global! Our host, Wendy, and her daughter, Candace were such a blessing to my life. They took great care of all of us and welcomed us with such warm hearts! All the people in the GLA community made us feel so at home and I can say confidently that I have made great friends here that will last a lifetime. 🤍

Beats and Books has been probably one of my favorite ministries. The heart behind it is so sweet! The staff, Nulu, Karla, Jonathan, Jaide, and everyone else who volunteers there, were so welcoming to us! And their love for the kids is so evident. The relationships that we developed with the students were so beautiful and it made it so hard to leave them. Six weeks at Beats and Books didn’t seem enough. But it was very rewarding!

One of the things that I’ll forever treasure, is the blessing that it was to be within walking distance from a mall. And before you go jump to conclusions lol, let me explain why… yes it was awesome to have a grocery store so close, but we had the perfect spot to do ATLs at!  We were there almost every day to the point that we started creating relationships with the employees of different stores. So much so, that we got invited to pray for whole stores and their employees! We prayed over 4 different ones. What a blessing! I will forever treasure those moments 🤍

So now, here I am, back on US soil, reminiscing and unpacking what happened the last four months of my life. How the Lord worked and how my life has changed. I would love to share more details of what the Lord did in my life during this trip with all of you! So, I’ll be sharing that soon! Keep your eyes out for that, maybe subscribe so you’ll get notified!

Also, I’ll be home for one month before I leave the States again to go on another mission trip! I’m so excited to be serving in Guatemala and I can’t wait to see what the Lord would do during our time there. So, my prayer requests are:

  1. for a restful + purposeful time at home.
  2. for R-Squad as they go back home to new jobs, or school.
  3. the new team that’s going to Guatemala as we prepare to go to the field.
  4. for financial support! I’m only $600 away from being fully funded for Guatemala!

thank you all for reading 🤍

Much love, -Alisha Sierra
