¡Buenas!
We’ve been in Guate for 48 days! Time has flown by so fast, and as our time comes to an end I wanted to share about how I’m doing and how ministry is going!
So, ministry! The Lord is so good and we are so blessed, as a team, to serve with Hope! They have such a great team and their heart for the kids of San Antonio is so apparent. They’ve welcomed us into their family and it’s been such an easy place to connect and build relationships. Me and two other women (Nicolle and Emma) we’ve been doing a Bible study with the mom and grandma of one of the kids that comes to the program. We are so excited for this family! We’ve been going over parables that show hope and they’ve been so blown away by how much you can learn from just a small story. Mariela (the mom of the kid) said that she felt her eyes opening more and more every single time we discussed the Bible with them. 🥹 The Lord has been moving in their hearts and I can’t wait to see what He keeps doing in their hearts even after when we leave!
We do Activation every Thursday, the AIM staff here at base and other godly people lead us in a time of worship and teach a message. Then we go out in groups to do ATL (Ask the Lord) in different towns surrounding Parramos. It’s been such a challenging, yet fun experience to do ATL with different groups every week, I’ve enjoyed learning from so many different people! There’s been so many divine encounters throughout the weeks here, but one of my favorite and most recent was last Thursday. We drove to the park in Parramos and we interceded for the town as a whole, specifically against the principalities of witchcraft and drunkenness. After, the Lord lead us to this alley where we talked to two guys that looked pretty rough. After talking to them we learned that they knew the Lord at one point, but that they had drifted away. We got to speak life over them and pray for them! I have faith that a seed was planted and that their hearts are going to turn back to Jesus. 🤍
This week is our last week of ministry! It is crazy to think about. I haven’t really given you all many updates (other than pictures on my socials 😅). The truth is that the Lord has been stretching me, and it’s been tough, but very needed! I’m still processing things that He’s has been speaking to me. I wish to share all of it at one point, but for now I’ll share one thing: surrender has been a constant word that the Lord keeps bringing up in new ways every time. Even as I surrendered my job last year, financial stability, and comfort the Lord keeps showing me things to surrender. I thought that I was done with that lol. I’m learning to ask Him what to surrender to Him daily, and doing it. Romans 12:1-2 and Luke 9:23 have been resounding during my surrendering process. It’s been a process, and I’m all for it!
Thank you for making it to the end! Here are some prayer requests:
- Last week of ministry
- Maria y Mariana (the bible study family)
- Debrief the next week
- For God to reveal my next steps!Much Love, Alisha
